Integration
The i.Know technology is composed of a a set of software components especially designed to be easily integrated in existing applications and environments. Unlike most existing systems in the market, i.Know didn’t want to create another stand-alone application with its own data silo and user interfaces. We created a component based system to ensure needless integration in the existing applications and solutions of our partners and customers.
Centre of the technology is the i.Know Smart Indexing Engine (SIE). This engine takes text (or genetic data) as input and returns the results of its analysis in a well-elaborated XML-structure. To make integration easy and quick the SIE has a direct API (application programmers interface) that is available for both Linux and Windows operating systems. To store the results generated by the SIE i.Know offers a storage component consisting of optimized datastructures and procedures for two leading database systems in the market: Oracle and InterSystems Caché. The storage component has an API that can be used directly within the database systems under the form of SQL-procedures or under the form of a set of webservices. On top of the engine and the storage component, a web-based graphical user interface (GUI) is available. This GUI is called the Knowledge Portal and consists of a series of data- and graphical components that can be easily adapted and extended in function of specific needs.
